Shopping Tips for Contoured Wooden Wheels. 1) Choose a wooden wheel size - diameter, thickness and hole size. 2) Choose your axles - for free spin, choose an axle peg smaller than the listed hole size.  3) Or you can select from our hardwood dowels in 12 and 36" lengths plus axle caps - For a fixed axle, choose the dowel that's the size of the listed wheel hole for a snug fit.
