Check out this live video from the Iowa Scroll Saw and Woodworking Show in August 2018. We used water to demonstrate the decreased vibration. 2 Excalibur Saws Side By Side. Watch!
These new “Blade Clamps / Blade Chuck Heads” were developed in Switzerland by Pégas in association with the HEIG engineering school in Yverdon. The studies and tests demonstrated that the weight of scroll saw chuck heads has a direct correlation with the service life and the vibrations of the machine.
These new heads, manufactured with aeronautical aluminum for, strength, durability and resilience. They are 40 % lighter than the original heads on Excalibur type saws. Vibration will be reduced, while at the same time better protecting the mechanical parts and linkages of the scroll saw. As you can see, they are clearly more compact than original heads and even easier to use.
Faster Blade Changing. You can see the top of the blade! Dramatic improvements to ease of use and blade clamping. The Original Model includes a built-in tension-adjustment lever to make adding tension to your blades easier. Users also love being able to see the top of the blade when feeding. And with the tension lever you don't have to reach beyond your chuck to adjust tension on your blades.
