Mixol Tint - Black (20ML)

Mixol Universal Tints are the most concentrated, highest quality tints on the market today.
They are compatible with most water, solvent, lacquer and oil-based stains, coatings, shellacs, epoxies, waxes, varnishes, wood fillers, etc.
“Ease of tinting or mixing” is often cited as the main attribute to Mixol, along with the “sophisticated” color palette.
Mixol tints are highly resistant to heat or frost damage. They won’t dry out or thicken (because they are binder-free), so there is a very long shelf/shop life.
Check out our entire offering of 25 distinct colors, 11 of which are oxide-based (colors 03, 04, 05, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 & 25).
The oxide-based colors are made from inorganic pigments which make them colorfast, fade-resistant and weatherproof.
These oxide colors are ideal for exterior applications or where UV fading may occur. Cleanup is very easy with soap and water. Mixol tints are not flammable or hazardous.

The product is as described. That it didn't work well for me is entirely my fault, hence five stars. I've used Mixtol tints before, so I should have been more careful. What happened is that when I applied the final coat of Danish oil, some of the tint came off of the part that I had treated and smeared around the general area, resulting in a dark "cloud" on what should have been natural wood. Maybe I should have let the tint / oil mixture dry for longer than a day before applying the final coat. Or maybe trying to tint the accents wasn't a good choice in the first place. Perhaps I should have spent the money on a dye. I wonder if anyone sells ebony dowel? I ended up using a black SharpieŽ marker. Don't tell anyone. The applications were 1 - the hour dots on a clock face and 2 - tiny Japanese-style handles on the lids of small boxes. Both were made from birch dowel, SKUs BD-0125-12 and BD-018-12.

This product works just as the manufacturer states. Do a bit of research and you won't be disappointed. The Bear Woods price is the going price, so what are you waiting for?

Don't forget to pick up some MAS Epoxy if you haven't yet.
