Tips for making larger wall clocks:
1. Second hands not included - we don't recommend second hands with high torque movements as they draw too much power.
2. Still want a second hand? - choose our balanced 10 inch red or black second hands that work with our Continuous Sweep High Torque Motors.
3. Scroll down to select a high torque movement to go with your hands. Or, click here.
4. Hands are measured from the center of the hole to the tip. The hour hands are proportionate.
If you are going to trim the hand to fit a particular size clock dial, the minute hand must remain balanced. Normally people just glue the material removed right under where it was cut from. You can check the balance of any minute hand just by placing the mounting hole on your fingertip. If it lays there flat then it’s balanced, but if it falls off your fingertip, it’s not properly balanced.

How do I choose the right size clock motor & hands? 2) The size of hands is based on the length of the minute hand from the mounting hole to the end of the minute hand. (Figures 3 & 4) 3) Our clock motors are sized by the thickness of the dial the movements can go through. EG. High torque Q-64 will go through up to 5/8" thick material, while standard/mini motor Q-65 will go through 3/8" thick clock faces. (Figure 1 and item "A" in Figure 2) Tip 1) If your material is too thick, consider removing some to in-set the clock. Or if your clock face material is too thin, consider adding some material behind the face so the hands will sit closer to your clock face. Tip 2) Most hands can be slightly trimmed if need be. Tip 3) Our customers also spray paint them. |

Ordering was easy, and customer service was excellent. A phone call was made to me, when CSR was unable to reach me by email. I received the parts quickly. I am a novice clock maker and was unsure how to assemble the parts, but was able to google it and detailed diagram was helpful. A instuctional insert with parts would be helpful for beginners.
I am pleased
With function and operation of clock parts, although I did have to fidget with hour and minute hands to get them in shaft properly.
I will send photo of completed wood soool clock.
I would recommend and use Bear Wood supply company parts again. Love shopping Canadian!!
Amazing customer service before and after I placed my order! A nice young lady helped me pick the right items for the 30" spool clock I was making before I placed my order and after the order I had to change the delivery method and someone else help me by changing it without any complications. The clock turned out amazing!! I am beyond happy!! It works perfectly, was easy to put together and is silent!
Everything arrived nicely packaged. My husband installed it into the clock he made for me...AND works great. I was a bit surprised how flimsy the arms were (they hung up on each other as they went around so my husband adjusted the slight arc on minute hand where it was catching the end of the hour hand) but once they are on and clearing each other...who knew!
Good selection of parts and good quality. They worked well repairing my wife’s favorite clock. The only complaint I have was the poor job packing the parts in the box they were shipped in. They were tumbling around in the box and the new clock hands were bent when I opened the box.
Great product. Have ordered these before from other companies and the packaging was terrible. Arms were bent and couldnt return them. These were very nicely packed seem stronger than others I've gotten before and look beautiful on the clocks I've put them on.
Parts arrived quickly. Well done. Wished there was more selection on 12â€, 14†and 17 1/4†clock hands.
Will continue to order through you as I am very pleased with service, communication and delivery.

Great Packaging. Clock hands arrived in perfect condition, wrapped in cardboard and bubble wrap, secured to side of box! Shipping took awhile, but that's okay if there's no rush!
Customer service was so helpful. I emailed them a picture of the current clock hands I have. She pulled these for me abs they were a perfect replacement!! Thanks for your help!
I purchased these hands for my clock made from a recycled hydro spool. They were a lot thinner and more light weight then I expected but look great and work wonderfully.
Bear Woods did a great job from answering my questions to delivery. Received my order in 3 days and parts fit perfectly. Thank you. Suzanne
I’m loving the giant wall clocks and these hands have a classic sleek look that works perfectly with my style.
I am very happy with my purchase, i will attach a picture of the clock i made out of an antique saw blade.
Lovely sturdy hands. Easy to install. Perfect finish to my farmhouse clock.
Thanks for the great service! Good quality material and fast delivery!
Good looking , works well
Great thanks
